Dear friends and supporters of GICAM, the health crisis affecting our planet worries us, pains us, and certainly leaves us dismayed in the face of an uncertain future.
For those of us who are used to travelling to help those in need, we feel a sense of helplessness on top of the sadness of knowing that some of our hospitals are going through a time of great anguish. This is why I would like to share with you all a sign of hope, of comfort, that came to us a few days ago.
Despite the difficult times, an anonymous donor has given a large amount to our Association, an amount that allows us to plan a significant number of surgical missions. A sign that fills our hearts, allowing us to dream of sending you our reports from India, Ghana, Uganda, and Burkina Faso again as soon as conditions allow.
It is a simple message, offering hope that this good news will help us look to the future with a little optimism.
I would nonetheless like to remind you how important it is to stay at home, respect social distancing, and follow the guidelines from the Authorities.
Your President,
Prof. Marco Lanzetta
